Cornwall Gems from my St Agnes stay

There’s something undeniably magical about Cornwall - the way the waves crash, the birdsong drifts through the air, and every corner seems made for slowing down. Earlier this week, I escaped to St Agnes in Cornwall and the surrounding areas for a few days of rest, exploration, and indulgence, staying in a truly dreamy cabin that felt like my own secret hideaway.
'The Aggie Hideaway' in St Agnes
I was kindly gifted a night stay at The Aggie Hideaway - a little gem of a stay hidden behind Leah's, the owner of Westwind Drift, home renovation. Nestled quietly in St Agnes, the cabin I stayed in was the perfect blend of cosy and luxurious. From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in for a treat and a few days of headspace.
There was a well-equipped kitchen that made me feel like I could stay forever without wanting for anything, and every thoughtful little touch that made it obvious someone had put care into making guests feel at home. It’s rare to find a place that manages to feel luxurious and cosy at the same time - here, I felt like I could sink into the rhythm of Cornwall life immediately.

Waking up to the soft sounds of birds in the morning, sinking into a velvet sofa to cosy up for the evening, and having every little comfort I could need made it the ultimate base for a stress-free escape. It’s the kind of stay that makes you exhale deeply, that makes you realise a little quiet and comfort can be the most indulgent treat of all. If you’re looking for a cabin that’s equal parts charm and practicality, check out Leah's gem on Airbnb.
Where I Wandered in Cornwall
Of course, no Cornwall trip is complete without a little adventure and discovery. I've been to this area many times before and fallen in love with it's Cornish charm and the lovely locals I've met on my exploring.I'm all about supporting independent businesses (and have a huge love of coffee) so exploring the local food and drink scene was another huge part of my stay.
A few Cornish foodie highlights from my trip:
The Sorting Office, St Agnes: A cosy spot for a coffee or brunch, this little gem is perfect for a slow morning before heading out to explore. I read my book a little here before heading down to St Agnes beach and up across the cliffs to the coast path walk. I was treated to a beautifully sunny March morning, which I honestly wasn't expecting after the winter we've had here in Devon & Cornwall.
Alcatraz, Perranporth: Known for its beautiful view of Perranporth and laid-back vibe, this is my go-to spot for coffee and cake by the sea in the area. I had walked along Perranporth beach and made my way back here for coffee and a slice of cake to people watch and soak up the rays for a little while. I had my swim gear ready for a dip in the sea water pool at Perranporth but it was a little too windy for my liking - so coffee instead it was!
Milk, Newquay: A sweet treat destination - think indulgent coffees and cakes that make you want to linger all afternoon. This is my favourite treat when I visit Newquay! I always end up with a warming cacao in this hidden cafe in town.
Sea Spray, Newquay: If you’re craving fresh brunch with a view, this is the place to soak in the Cornish coast while enjoying the flavours of the sea. I walked from Little Fistral along Fistral beach and ended up with the cutest window seat overlooking the surf for a lunch (and little laptop work here!) Always the loveliest team & atmosphere!
It’s the combination of little hideaways, coastal walks, and independent gems that makes Cornwall feel like a place to truly switch off. This gifted stay reminded me that slowing down, enjoying beautiful interiors, and wandering through charming towns makes for the kind of trip that stays with you long after you leave.
Whether you’re after a secret cabin, coastal cafés, or indulgent bites, St Agnes and the surrounding area of Newquay & Perranporth are packed with the kind of spots that make you feel like you’ve discovered Cornwall’s hidden side. Book your stay today.
