A weekend of sand, sea & Sea Space

There’s something about festival weekends by the sea that makes it officially feel like summer.
Maybe it’s the beach setting. Maybe it’s the lack of routine. Or maybe it’s just the strange combination of exhaustion and adrenaline that comes from dancing barefoot on a beach for hours. Especailly when I'm creating content, and surviving mostly on coffee, Mixtons cocktails and serotonin.
Whatever it is, my weekend at Tunes in the Dunes became one of those trips I know I’ll think about long after summer’s gone. Even with strong winds and very little sunshine, it was a weekend to remember - and SeaSpace became a huge part of that story.
Apart-Hotel Living That Actually Lets You Slow Down
I was kindly gifted a one-night stay at SeaSpace, an gorgeous gem of a hotel perched on the cliffs in Porth, Newquay, just moments from Porth Beach, Watergate Bay and the South West Coast Path.
As a base for a festival weekend at Tunes in the Dunes, it couldn’t have been better placed.
From the moment I arrived, it felt less like a hotel check-in and more like stepping into a beautifully designed coastal apartment - somewhere you can properly exhale. No formality, no fuss, just calm, considered interiors and that effortless sense of space you only really get by the sea. After full days on the beach shooting content, battling Cornish weather and soaking up the festival atmosphere, coming back here felt like a reset. Quiet, warm, and grounding in all the right ways.
Downstairs, the SeaSpace café and Tallo restaurant was an extra bonus - somewhere you sit down “for a quick coffee” or breakfast and suddenly realise an hour has just disappeared. With views of Newquay and the ocean from the entire hotel, it's hardly surprising!
Somewhere between a surf stay, an aparthotel and the kind of home you suddenly start imagining for yourself halfway through the weekend - this place is just so special. Sea Space has gorgeous oversized sea view windows letting in all the light (making the Photographer in me very happy), whilst wetsuit-clad guests drift between coffee runs and beach walks. Everything feels easy and unforced - exactly up my street!
And the apartment setup made the biggest difference. Having my own kitchenette meant the weekend never felt rushed, and I could brew a cuppa in the apartment myself or refuel after a busy festival morning. It meant slow mornings, simple routines, and the ability to properly switch off from the pace of festival life.
One of my favourite moments was a slow Saturday morning - I woke up slowly, headed downstairs to the indoor pool for a swim, checked out at 11am and stayed in the Sea Space cafe for a nourishing breakfast before making my way back to the festival. Those small pauses between everything else made the weekend feel balanced rather than chaotic.

Music, Sand & Cornwall at Its Best
Tunes in the Dunes festival is exactly the kind of festival you go back to time after time. Having been invited to this festival for a few years now, it's a Cornish festival weekend I look forward to in my calendar and count down the days to.
Music directly on the sand. Sunsets over the sea. Thousands of people dancing barefoot with Mixtons Cocktails in hand whilst the sky slowly turns pink behind the stage. Name a better festival experience! It somehow manages to feel both energetic and laid-back at the same time, capturing everything people love about Cornwall in just one weekend. Even in the rain, there’s something about it - the kind of weather that somehow doesn’t stop anyone dancing or having fun, it just adds to the story.
Having Sea Space as my base was the icing on the cake to my entire weekend experience and I'm super grateful for my nights stay here. Returning each evening to fresh bedding, warmth, and a calm space to land after a full day on the beach made all the difference.
Why Sea Space worked so well for this kind of trip
Weirdly, some of my favourite moments happened at SeaSpace rather than at the festival itself. Early mornings in the on site café before everyone properly woke up, walking back after hours on the beach and diving straight into their indoor pool to cool off, brushing off layers of sand and collapsing into bed whilst replaying the entire day back.
Those are always the moments I remember most when I travel. Not necessarily the “main event”, but the tiny in-between moments that make somewhere feel special.
I think that’s why SeaSpace worked so perfectly for my festival weekend. The team have created a space that effortlessly works and builds a community because it understands the way people actually want to travel now. Not stiff hotel stays, and not somewhere you only sleep. My stay, albeit short, gave me space to breathe, reset and actually enjoy the quieter parts of the festival weekend too. And honestly, that feeling of closing the apartment door behind you after a full festival day and instantly feeling at home? Pure bliss.
If you’re heading to Tunes in the Dunes or planning a Cornwall stay where you want that balance of coastal calm and adventure, SeaSpace makes the perfect base for it all. A little apartment of your own by the sea in the middle of the Cornwall summer busyness.
A simple festival weekend rhythm at Sea Space
Cornwall has some of the best festivals in the country this summer, and with Boardmasters just around the corner, it's no doubt that you'll be looking for the perfect stay to fuel your own festival visit.
If you’re heading to Cornwall this summer - especially for festivals like Tunes in the Dunes or Boardmasters - this is what a weekend here might naturally turn into:
8am: A delicious breakfast at the SeaSpace cafe - with everything from granola bowls to breakfast wraps and iced matcha to speciality Origin coffee, you don't need to leave the hotel to get your breakfast fix and beat the crowds!
9.30am: Join in with Tunes in the Dunes wellness events to kickstart your day! They have wellness morning sessions, with yoga classes and surf sessions run by Peaches on Beaches every day before the festival even begins. Please note: Peaches on Beaches wellness events are not at Boardmasters.
11am: Pack for a refreshing sea swim down at Porth beach followed by a dip in the Sea Space on site indoor pool to cool off before getting fully festival ready!
1pm: Head into the festival to grab some lunch from a host of incredible local festival traders.
4pm: Slowly wander back to SeaSpace hotel for a little bit of calm, and take in the comfort of having own apartment for a few peaceful hours. If you're feeling more active and want to squeeze in all the activities, don't forget they have a Paddle court and on site health club with gym too!
7pm: Enjoy complementary Land & Water products in their showers and get festival ready for the evening and drive back to the beach for festival music, local Cornish food and an unforgettable sunset!
11pm: Quietly return to the comfort of your apartment at SeaSpace - ready to do it all again tomorrow. I recommend booking a full weekend, or even a long extended weekend, at Sea Space to get to fully settle in and enjoy all the incredible facilities they have to offer!
This stay was gifted by SeaSpace (AD / PR Stay), with PR tickets to Tunes in the Dunes via Peaches on Beaches. All thoughts and words are my own.
A huge thank you to both for such a memorable weekend! If you’re planning a Cornwall stay this summer, SeaSpace makes an ideal base - especially if you want that balance of coastal calm and festival energy. And yes, it’s dog friendly too!
